The entire match lasted 42 minutes and 59 seconds. Despite a strong showing by Alshon in the second set, Sock never lost control, ultimately clinching victory.

Sock asserted his dominance early on, taking the first set 11-1 with powerful serves and well-placed groundstrokes. Alshon struggled to find his rhythm, only managing one point throughout the set.

Alshon Fights Back in the Second Set
The second set was a much closer game as Alshon came out with renewed energy, forcing Sock to work hard for every point. The score remained neck-and-neck, with both players trading blows throughout. Alshon held a 4-3 lead at one stage, but Sock maintained her momentum. The second set was super close, but Sock won by 13-11.
Throughout the match, Sock showcased his exceptional athleticism and anticipation at the kitchen line, expertly disrupting Alshon’s serving rhythm. Despite facing two game points in the second game, the 11th-seeded Sock held his nerve to avoid a deciding third game.
As he achieves another milestone in his burgeoning pickleball career, Sock remains committed to keeping the sport enjoyable and light-hearted.
“I’m blessed to have a second career in something I love doing,” he said while talking to pickleballtv. “Now that I’m playing pickleball, I want to try and keep a smile on my face. Whenever I do that, I actually play better.”
