Anna Leigh Waters and Benjamin Johns dominated Tina Pisnik and Dekel Bar in the Mixed Doubles Pro Main Draw. The final score was 12-10, 11-3, 11-0, showcasing Waters and Johns’ incredible teamwork and strategic play. The top-seeded mixed doubles duo, Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns showcased their dominance once again in the world of pickleball.

The first game was the toughest, with both teams trading points back and forth. Waters and Johns narrowly edged out Pisnik and Bar 12-10. The second game saw Waters and Johns take control, winning 11-3. They carried this momentum into the third game, completely shutting out Pisnik and Bar 11-0.

When asked if they did anything different between game one and two, Johns had this to say:

“Dekel was hitting a lot of big drives, Tina was making all her drops, and I made some errors from that. We really just said, let’s make sure we’re getting in every time and we looked for an opening, so we’re happy to get out of that one.” 

During the match, Waters made an incredible and a little accidental ernie shot that nicked the top of her paddle and sent the ball perfectly cross court to Pisnik who couldn’t recover.

“I probably shouldn’t have made that shot,” said Waters with a laugh. “But I’m happy I went for it and got it.” 

This win marks Water’s 99 PPA title win alongside her mixed dubs partner, Johns, who’s the only other pro to achieve this monumental 100 title achievement. 

“She’s an incredible player,” regarded Johns. “It’s amazing to watch her grit her skill, and so many other amazing attributes. I’m looking forward to many more years of watching.”
