Dallas Flash Stay Perfect with Statement Win Over New Jersey 5s at MLP Austin
The Dallas Flash (8-0, 22 points) continue to shine in Major League Pickleball action, edging out the New Jersey 5s (7-2, 20 points) in a thrilling 3-2 match on Sunday at MLP Austin. With both teams entering the clash as early-season favorites, the highly anticipated showdown lived up to expectations — and ended with a dominant DreamBreaker performance that sealed the win for Dallas on Championship Court.

The defending MLP champions asserted their supremacy with a 21-11 victory in the decisive DreamBreaker, once again showing their resilience under pressure. Key to that success was 18-year-old standout Jorja Johnson, whose clutch performance against 5s superstar Anna Leigh Waters made all the difference.
“Regardless of who I’m playing, I’m just trying to stick to my game and just focus on me. Obviously, she’s the best. I was just looking to be aggressive and try my best for my team,” Johnson said after the match. “Thankfully, it went my way this time.”
And go her way it did. Johnson has been on a tear in 2025 MLP play, boasting an incredible 15-1 record and winning 76.58% of her points. Her confidence and consistency have helped power the Flash through tight contests and big moments alike.

“Maybe it was the MLP win, you know, a new level of confidence and knowing I get to do it beside all these great people,” Johnson added. “Not only the four starters, but also our two bench players, who have been great all weekend. We’re super happy to have them out there. Thank you to all the friends and family who came out to watch.”
This win marks the second straight DreamBreaker victory for Dallas, who also toppled Texas in dramatic fashion on Saturday. Their unblemished record remains intact, and they continue to look like the team to beat this season.
